A challenge to this sandy site were the large and fine tree roots from mature street Plane trees which cover the property, taking all water in the summer and dropping leaves in the Autumn.
Edging beds with local rock; compost and mulch were added to create smaller improved areas for planting, with clearly defined tree mulch paths between.
